A Bali villa holiday with the family is all about long pool days, shared meals and time together, and the right villa team makes that easy. Breakfast appears, the bedrooms are made, and someone is on hand for the little requests that pop up through the day.
That’s the real difference with a Bali villa with staff. Instead of simply renting a private home, you have a dedicated team looking after you. Depending on the property, that can include a private chef, butler, housekeepers, villa manager and security team.
For families and large groups, privacy, space and personalised service together make a private villa a more comfortable alternative to a row of hotel rooms. Here’s what villa staff actually do, and how we match you with the right level of service.

What Is a Bali Villa with Staff?
A staffed villa is a private holiday villa with a dedicated team who look after the property and the guests throughout your stay. The level of service varies from villa to villa. Some include daily housekeeping and breakfast, while higher-service properties have a private chef, butler, villa manager and security team.
Villa Indrani, for example, has a villa manager, private chef, housekeepers, butlers and security. We know exactly what each villa in our collection includes, so we can tell you up front what’s covered and what’s extra.

What Does a Private Chef Do?
One of the best parts of booking a Bali villa with a private chef is having delicious meals come to you, with no restaurant bookings for the whole crew. Depending on the villa, the chef can prepare breakfast, lunch and dinner, with menus spanning Indonesian, Asian and Western dishes. Villa Indrani’s in-house chef, for example, cooks both Western and Asian dishes.
For families, it’s a game changer. Everyone eats together in the privacy of the villa, and we brief the villa team on dietary requirements and children’s meal preferences before you arrive. A private chef really comes into its own when you’re travelling with young children or grandparents, when your group has a mix of dietary needs, when you’re a big group that would rather not book restaurant tables for 15, or when you’d simply love dinner by your own pool with nothing to organise.
Does a Private Chef Come with the Villa?
It depends on the villa, and every property has its own setup. At some villas, the full-time villa staff cook breakfast each day, and a freelance chef service is arranged for other meals at an additional charge, which gives you the freedom to
dine out at local restaurants too. Other villas offer more comprehensive in-villa dining, with a set menu you can order from whenever suits you. Once you have a shortlist of favourite villas, we’ll send you the menus and confirm the exact meal setup for each one.
Many villas cook on a grocery system. You pay for the ingredients plus a 20% surcharge on the receipts, and the villa staff take your order, shop and prepare as you go. It’s a cost-effective way to feed a group, because ingredients can
stretch across more than one meal, and any leftovers are yours to enjoy the next day. Sharing-style meals work best, so the cook can shop for and prepare a few main dishes for everyone, rather than individual plates like a restaurant.
Dietary requirements are easily catered for, and you’re always welcome to use the kitchen yourself. The villa staff can also help you order delivery from Bali’s many amazing cafés and restaurants.
If a chef is high on your wish list, tell us when you enquire and we’ll shortlist villas where the kitchen team is a highlight.

What Does a Villa Butler Do?
A Bali villa with butler service adds another layer of personalised care. A butler looks after everyday guest requests, serves meals and drinks, and helps the whole stay run smoothly.
For families, that means the holiday doesn’t fall on one person’s shoulders. Drinks, meals and little requests are all taken care of by the villa team. Villa Melissa, for example, offers 24-hour butler service together with housekeeping and an in-house private chef.
Butler service is especially lovely for large family groups, where there are more people and
more preferences to look after.

What Does Villa Housekeeping Include?
Housekeeping is one of the most practical luxuries of a staffed villa. Depending on the property, the team cleans bedrooms and bathrooms, makes the beds, tidies the living areas and kitchen, refreshes towels and keeps the whole villa looking its best.
Daily housekeeping is included at every villa in our collection. All the villa towels and linens, including pool towels, are laundered in-house throughout your stay. Your personal laundry is usually sent out to a local laundry service, and the staff arrange it all for you.
Villa Asante, for example, includes housekeeping alongside butler service, a private chef, villa managers and security. For families, it means coming home from a beach day or a morning of sightseeing to a villa that’s fresh and ready for
you to relax.

Night Security, Pool and Garden Teams
Many of our villas have night security, who take over when the day staff finish up for a well-earned rest. They keep an eye on the villa overnight and are your local point of contact until the morning team arrives, so there’s always someone on hand.
The pool and garden teams matter just as much. Your private pool and tropical surroundings are such a huge part of a Bali villa stay, and at most villas a dedicated pool and garden team keep the water sparkling and the gardens lush, so the villa looks its best every day of your holiday.
Why Choose a Staffed Villa Instead of a Hotel?
A hotel can be convenient, but a private villa gives families something hotel rooms rarely can: space and privacy for everyone to stay together. Picture your own private pool, multiple bedrooms under one roof, a shared living and dining area, room for the kids to play, and meals prepared at the villa, with housekeeping, butler service and a dedicated villa team looking after it all.
You don’t have to choose between privacy and service. A well-staffed private villa gives you both, and that’s especially valuable for families travelling with grandparents, several children or a few families together.

Staffed Villas for Large Family Groups
The bigger the group, the more a great villa team shines. With more people travelling together, there are more meals, more bedrooms and more plans to look after, and a staffed villa takes care of much of it for you.
Seseh Beach Villa Estate, for example, offers large-villa accommodation with housekeeping, a chef, butler and security services. For even bigger groups, explore our Bali large group villas, designed for extended families and groups.
Planning a Bali trip for 10, 15 or even 20+ guests? Bedroom count is only part of the picture. We’ll look at staffing, common areas, dining spaces and services too, so the villa works for the whole group.

Which Areas of Bali Have Villas with Staff?
Staffed private villas are found right across Bali, so the best location depends on the kind of holiday you want.

What Should You Ask Before Booking a Bali Villa with Staff?

We’ll confirm whether the chef is included in the villa rate and how groceries and ingredients are charged.
How often is housekeeping provided?
Daily housekeeping is included at all our villas, and we’ll let you know exactly what’s covered at each one.
What hours is the butler available?
Some properties offer dedicated or 24-hour butler service, while others have set service hours, and we’ll tell you which
